“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un” — To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. With profound sadness and heavy hearts, family, friends, and members of the Albuquerque community are mourning the passing of Hanaa Bahraq, a beloved sister, friend, and compassionate healthcare professional who dedicated her life to caring for others.
Hanaa Bahraq, a Registered Nurse (RN) at UNM Hospital, was known for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering commitment to helping those in need. Through her work in healthcare, she touched countless lives with compassion and professionalism, offering comfort and healing to patients and their families during some of life’s most difficult moments. Those who knew Hanaa remember her as someone whose gentle spirit and generous heart left a lasting impact on everyone around her.
The Janazah prayer for Hanaa will be held tomorrow following Jumu’ah prayer at the Islamic Center of New Mexico, located at 1100 Yale Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. Jumu’ah prayer is scheduled to begin at 1:15 PM, with the Janazah prayer immediately afterward. Family members have kindly asked the community to continue keeping Hanaa and her loved ones in their du’as while also respecting the family’s privacy during this incredibly painful time.
Following the burial, a gathering for family, friends, and community members will be held at the Islamic Center of New Mexico, where lunch will also be served as loved ones come together to remember and honor Hanaa’s life.
As tributes continue to pour in, prayers are being lifted for Allah ﷻ to shower Hanaa Bahraq with mercy, forgive her shortcomings, illuminate and widen her grave, and grant her the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah also grant patience, strength, and comfort to all who mourn her loss. Ameen.
